Goblin Valley 2010

Another fun camping trip to Southern Utah. This year we hiked in the San Rafael Swell and Goblin Valley.

Sara and McKay having fun on the sandstone walls
and Jacob learning the art of bridging.

Somewhere in the middle of crack canyon

Kito LOVED scaling the walls. He even left behind a couple of nails and a trail of blood to remember the trip.

Sara with Grandma Murdock
(trying to get a picture of a kindergartener singing was impossible. too many other parents with cameras in front of me)
Jacob was thrilled to perform

Joshua got to dance with a cute girl

At least someone was excited to perform

The basement

OK, I just went to post some new things on our blog and saw our last post. Teared up a little bit because Max was such a great dog and friend, but enough of that already.

These are primarily for Mom and Dad, but for those of you who haven't seen the basement and the rest of the home improvements Tricia and I have been working on and almost divorcing over, here they are.

In case you are wondering, Tricia and I love each other deeply. We are best friends and love hanging out and doing things together. Unfortunately, home improvements aren't on that list. Two stubborn people trying to exert their creative wills usually does not end well. The fix? I have my projects and she has hers. End of story.

Anyways, here are some of the latest editions:

The patio - south facing in the summer in Heber gets hot, so we wanted a little outdoor living space. Because our house sits up pretty high compared with the rest of the yard, we wound up with an elevated patio. We built this pergola/shade/whatever last summer, and can't wait to see it in action this summer.

Andfor Mom and Dad, this is the basement. I know it's been "done" for awhile, so sorry for not getting these on there.

Tricia's Craft Room
More Craft Room

The family room. As you can see, the kids like to play, but cleaning it up? Not so much...

Old Glory and the pool table.

There she is. We are trying to also make it a little bit of a remeber room for all the stuff we've done, places we've been, etc. We'll see how it works out.

We miss you Max

We love you good buddy. Thanks for being a part of our family and adding ten years of wonderful and sometimes hilarious memories. We can't wait to see you again someday.

an attempt at an update

Just wanted to let you all know that we are still alive and well in Heber. I know Kirk would love to add some posts to his blog, but finding a spare moment has been hard for him lately.
I was looking through my pics, and I don't have any since last November; but hey, here they are.

Josh was a tv reporter for the Thanksgiving play
.

He was also a squash, and he got to sing a solo (which absolutely rocked)

Sara was a cheerleader for the Thanksgiving play (it was an interesting play)
.

And our new cat Jacob, curled up by the window and sleeping in the sun. (must have been a tought day at school)

Jake goes to the Tetons

Hey, this is Jake and I'm going to tell you about my Teton Science School or T.S.S. trip. By the way, I'm sorry we haven't blogged for a while DAD. We had the best bus EVER. It had a t.v., padded seats, and a bathroom and no, it is not an R.V.. We (28 kids from school) went to Jacksonhole Wyoming in case you don't know where T.S.S. is. I'm not going to tell you everything because it is 8:00 p.m. on Sunday night. But let's get back to the point. It's beautiful there and I mean beautiful. We were there for 5 days and I thought it was awesome. We went on 13 hikes and there were long like 10 miles long type long. I'll post more Tommorow while I'm not being distracted by my sibilings.
