The basement

OK, I just went to post some new things on our blog and saw our last post. Teared up a little bit because Max was such a great dog and friend, but enough of that already.

These are primarily for Mom and Dad, but for those of you who haven't seen the basement and the rest of the home improvements Tricia and I have been working on and almost divorcing over, here they are.

In case you are wondering, Tricia and I love each other deeply. We are best friends and love hanging out and doing things together. Unfortunately, home improvements aren't on that list. Two stubborn people trying to exert their creative wills usually does not end well. The fix? I have my projects and she has hers. End of story.

Anyways, here are some of the latest editions:

The patio - south facing in the summer in Heber gets hot, so we wanted a little outdoor living space. Because our house sits up pretty high compared with the rest of the yard, we wound up with an elevated patio. We built this pergola/shade/whatever last summer, and can't wait to see it in action this summer.

Andfor Mom and Dad, this is the basement. I know it's been "done" for awhile, so sorry for not getting these on there.

Tricia's Craft Room
More Craft Room

The family room. As you can see, the kids like to play, but cleaning it up? Not so much...

Old Glory and the pool table.

There she is. We are trying to also make it a little bit of a remeber room for all the stuff we've done, places we've been, etc. We'll see how it works out.

i think your projects look fantastic! i love the additions to your house. it feels so good to beautify your living space...but someday i'll look forward to just ENJOYING them instead of thinking of the next project.

Wow, that looks ambitious and looks like your compromise on projects is working well. You don't want to see our basement!!!!

You win. You actually moved into your basement. We finished ours right before putting the house on the market, then told our kids that they would be killed if they went in there. I love your house, mostly because of the great feeling of peace I have when I visit. Can't wait to see the improvements in person this July.
